This Is Uncanny! Is Looking Like This A Blessing Or Curse?

While many dream about what it must feel like to be a celebrity, a rare few of us actually get to experience it through an uncanny resemblance to one. What is life like for a celebrity doppelganger? Here are X examples of striking celebrity lookalikes.

If Vernetta Jenkins looks familiar, she should; she is quite often mistaken for First Lady Michelle Obama. She notes that the comparisons first started during Obama’s initial presidential campaign in 2007.  After transitioning from a state senator relatively unknown outside of Illinois to the White House, Jenkins reports she was stopped “all day, every day” by incredulous onlookers whom thought they were in the presence of the First Lady. Since then, she has appeared in sketch comedy routines on Jimmy Kimmel, Live with Regis and Kelly, and others. A former television producer, Vernetta is now pursuing a career in front of the camera.

Imagine the surprise of one Hollywood resident when Tom Cruise showed up in a big orange truck to perform some handyman work. Of course it wasn’t actually Tom Cruise, but rather Stuart Rigby, who has since gone on to become a successful celebrity impersonator. He even appeared as Cruise in the spoof 2008 film Meet The Spartans.

Jeff Burnett was called Buddy Fox in high school, after Charlie Sheen’s character in Wall Street. While he admits that being a dead ringer for Sheen has improved his love life, Burnett says that he does not subscribe to Charlie’s hard-partying ways.  After working as a financial market analyst in Philadelphia, he moved to California where he commands $1000 per gig impersonating Sheen at corporate events.
